Fried Green Tomatoes Cardinal Flower - 3" pot

(Lobelia cardinalis 'Fried Green Tomatoes' PPAF) By far the easiest Cardinal Flower to grow! Extremely hardy, it is also extremely vigorous, and the sturdy stems do not flop—all rare in Lobelias. It's longer-lived, too, especially if you cut the stems after flowering. Flowers for 8-10 weeks in late summer, and the bloom color is spectacular—an unusual bright tomato red! Basal rosettes of gorgeous eggplant-purple become olive green on the stems in summer's heat, inspiring the name. Altogether a great garden plant—and Butterflies and Hummingbirds love it!
